Your responsibilities

Design, code and deploy highly scalable machine learning systems taking into consideration the trade-off between model improvement vs. scalability.
Adapt standard machine learning methods to best exploit modern parallel environments.
Code deliverables in tandem with the rest of the tech team.
Help drive optimization, testing, and tooling to improve quality.
Learn and teach about state of the art computational statistics techniques.
Research, implement and test your own ideas on how to improve our current models.
Be a teamplayer: The best results are achieved when working together in a team. We’re looking for true teamplayers who enable and support each other.

About you

Deep understanding of machine learning and (deep) neural networks, preferably also NLP and recommendation systems
High interest in state-of-the-art research on deep learning
Experience with Python (including TensorFlow or PyTorch)
Experience with version control as Git
You know the difference between software developed as a tool for your research, and software developed for use in production by customers – you are interested in both

Nice to have

Experience with test-driven development
Interest in privacy-preserving AI
Experience in open-source projects
Interest in edge computing

Our private search engine presents users with personalised search results and a curated news stream – without ads or data collection. Xayn is based on decentralised edge AI made in Europe and ushers in a new generation of user-friendly privacy tech.

Xayn started as a research project at The University of Oxford and Imperial College London by Leif-Nissen Lundbæk (PhD) and Professor Michael Huth. Together with Felix Hahmann, they founded the tech company in 2017.

We received investment funding of 19.5 million EURO from Global Brain Corporation, KDDI Open Innovation Fund, Earlybird as well as Dominik Schiener. Xayn has worked with corporations such as Porsche, Daimler, Deutsche Bahn, and Siemens.
